So, I'm looking into different templates for "character sheets". I've got the D&D one and Elder Scrolls IV (for myself!) templates, and now there are a lot to choose from that I am less familiar with. I will be doing GURPS for sure, but would like to hear from anyone who would like to see another system. Any requests?
Also, has anyone tried the tables? I saw Aristanthos made a timeline table in Arenth.
Any feedback? Good? Bad?
Cheers! Neil

Sorry I've been out of action for ages, my PC crashed, Again! Thankfully all my stuff is saved. I'd love to see GURPS on there, as that is my system of choice.
The tables work fine for me, thanks again for putting them in!

Ouch! Sorry to hear about the crash. Computers sure do make our lives easier, don't they? I threw together a GURPS template last night, so have a look: Draft GURPS TemplateSince I'm not very familiar with GURPS, there might be some errors, or things that are missing. I referred to the official GURPS character sheet (PDF), and a home-made one I found somewhere. But I don't know what some of the acronyms are, so I might have used them incorrectly. Cheers, Neil

As far as I can see you've only missed dodge out of the active defenses, and PD (Passive Defense) but thats a 3rd edition thing. My gaming group still use it over 4th ed but I'm not sure about other people.
Other than that, perfect!

Thanks, I'll look into that. There is a Dodge column in the Encumbrance table, is that the same as what you mean?
I will add PD since it is easier for someone to delete a row from a table than it is to add one, although not by much. And really, you're more likely to use this than anyone else!
These are just templates to help get a character page started quickly, and I know that most GURPS campaigns have customized character sheets that are different for every GM. I am looking at a friend's character sheet, and he has added some of his own things, which is probably typical of GURPS GM's. No two GURPS character sheets look the same. He suggested I remove "religion" and leave the space open for customization, so I will do that.
Since these templates are built on top of the existing table system, anything can be edited, moved, deleted, or added, so I hope people understand that... There's much more that can be done to make the templates useful obviously. I don't envision these templates are going to be used as active character sheets that people use while role-playing. Rather I see them as a way to show off your characters on the internet. But if this system gets used, and people want them to be something more, then of course I will listen. At the moment, this site isn't exactly swamped with users! So I will have to evaluate our goals again.
I'll have the GURPS template finalized soon.
Cheers! Neil

Hmm... yeah, seems like it should be with Block and Parry. Maybe putting it with Encumbrance is another 4th edition change?
I like the idea of creating NPCs using the templates!

Well with GURPS you're dodge is based on your move, so as your encumberance gets higher your move and dodge will get lower. So both ways are correct.

I like skill-based systems in computer RPGs, so I probably would have enjoyed GURPS back in my PnP RPG days in high school. I played AD&D second edition just because it was the first system anyone taught me and I didn't look for anything better. Good times. I guess I'm old!

hehe I was raised on Runequest and then my best friend introduced me to GURPS, RQ was all randomised generation, it was a real blessing to have a points based system with such a wide variety of settings.
My Dad never taught me D&D, he played it in his youth but when he found Runequest he dropped it.

I've played several RPG games (though never GURPS or RQ), but I always enjoyed D&D the best -probably due to the fact that I like 1E, although due to lack of first edition players I have taken up 3.5 (I was soo mad when I heard they were going to release a fourth edition.)- Anyway, it would be great to see a character sheet for DnD 1E up there, although they might be hard to find.

I started with 1st Edition, but gave away all my stuff a long time ago. Why would I have done such a thing?!?

Thanks a lot for the pdf, Shardnax.
I put up a quick fix for the drafts problem. Sorry about that! Turns out you had a saved draft on a page that you later deleted. The draft is still in the database and is in a backup, so it hasn't been lost.
For now, do not click "Resume Editing" for the lost draft. It will still give an error. I will add a way for you to view the draft when you hit this situation.
Cheers, Neil
