Ganoes Paran travels through Seven Cities, seeing plague everywhere. He finds an area with Omtose Phellack magic, and meets a Jaghut woman named Ganath. She says she had imprisoned someone who was trying to conquer the world. They are both going to the Raraku sea, so they decide to travel together. She bathes in the sea, and explains to Paran that he is like the Errant, who was like the Master of the Dragon, but Master of the Holds instead. He was worshipped as a god, and his followers provided endless blood sacrifices to him. Ganath says that Paran will soon have such followers too. Paran casts a spell, and the ghosts of all the dead at Raraku rise before him. He finds Bridgeburners, and speaks to Hedge. Raraku is like a gate between the living world and the world of the dead. He asks Hedge to help him summon something to find and kill Dejim Nebrahl. Hedge says that only Deragoth can do it.
Quick Ben, Kalam, and Stormy find a table with a feast prepared for them in the Imperial Warren. They eat and chat. Stormy explains that a T'lann Imass gave him his Imass sword. They all agree that there isn't anything more to learn about the sky ships in the warren. There are K'Chain Che'Malle inside, and they aren't moving. Done. So they will rejoin Tavore's army.
